PICTURESQUE FARM SUMMER RIDING CAMP APPLICATION
There will be three day camps for boys & girls ages 5-12 years. Programmed group activity is adjusted to each camper’s ability. Each camp consists of a week long program lasting Monday to Friday, from 9am until 2pm daily.
Each weekly session is limited to a maximum of 10-12 campers, 2 instructors, and 1 aide as needed. This is a small, intensive program designed to give quality riding time to each student as they also learn the practical and fun side of horses. Mounted lessons will be given one to two times daily. Arts and crafts instruction and demonstrations/lectures on horse care (pulling manes, clipping, bandaging, etc.), horse management (feeding, grooming, etc.) and theory will also be provided. The lessons will typically consist of ring work, where emphasis will be placed on equitation, forward seat, and basic dressage. Riding lessons may also involve trail riding, jumping in the cross country field, bareback or horse games. There may also be participation in a local schooling hunter show.
